Ever wondered how a pipe organ works?
Our wonderful organ at St Mellitus has more than 2,000 pipes, but how do the pipes make music? What do all those funny buttons, known as ‘stops’, on the side of the console do? And what are organists doing with their feet? If you ever wondered how a pipe organ works, our new animation for young children has now launched, so you can find out.
This charming and informative animation was created by Izzy Argent, a recent graduate of UCA Farnham, with music and sound by multi-instrumentalist and composer, Matt Redman.
The animation will be included in an education pack for schools which will launch in September 2021, when it will be available on our website.
