The Autumn 2021 edition of The Organ has a five-page feature on the St Mellitus Organ Restoration Project that includes a history of the Hunter memorial organ, an expert view from Ian Bell, independent organ adviser to the project, plus the thoughts of James Orford on playing the instrument.
Also in the article, Nicholas Singer also talks about his specially commissioned compositions for the Organ Restoration Project, Our Time Lost and All Losses Restored, which had their first performance at the church on 30th October. They were played beautifully by Marion Bettsworth as part of her recital for the 2021 Stroud Green Festival.
Many thanks go to The Organ editor Robert Matthew-Walker for his interest in the project and Chris Monk for his wonderful layout. Click here to find out more about the magazine and how to subscribe.
