The St Mellitus archive volunteers have been incredibly hard at work during the latest lockdown.…

In March we reported on the appointment of Joe Calder (33) from Teynam as a trainee at F H Browne and Sons. The six-month trainee placement, based at their workshop in Kent, came to an end at the beginning of this month; we are thrilled to announce that Joe has been offered a full time position with the company.
Everyone involved with the St Mellitus Organ Restoration Project sends congratulations to Joe who shone during his placement. Stephen Bayley, Managing Director at F H Browne and Sons, says: “We’re really happy to have Joe on board; since arriving he has shown a real interest in organ building. Over the past six months Joe has picked up a variety of skills and continues to work with such enthusiasm. We wish him the best of luck with F H Browne.”
Joe’s next project is the renovation of the organ at St James’ Church, Sussex Gardens, in West London.
Well done Joe and all the very best with your new career!
